Shiraz Afif-Abad Garden

Afif-Abad Garden or Gulshan Garden, is a museum complex in Shiraz, Iran. The complex was constructed in 1863 and contains a former royal mansion, a historical weapons museum, and a Persian garden. During the Safavid dynasty, it was used as a palace by the Safavid Kings. In 1962, it was restored by the army. It now functions as a weapons museum. Try to visit this garden in April-May when the city is full of flowers. If you are interested in rifles and guns and military history never miss this museum. You can find a lot of guns from 100-200 years ago.

Shiraz Delgosha Garden

Delgosha in Persian means cheery. It is One of the oldest garden in Shiraz with lots of sour orange trees which makes it amazing in March. Delgosha Garden is one of the historical gardens in Shiraz, Iran near Tomb of Sa’di and it belongs to the pre-Islamic era of the Sassanian Empire. According to wikipedia, in Safavid dynasty, Delgosha Garden was one of the most famous gardens in Shiraz. Some of the buildings in this garden were constructed in Qajar dynasty. Most of the trees in this garden are citrus such as Orange and sour orange (called Naranj). As in the middle of May, pleasant scent of their blossoms will make the garden a great place. The main building which has three stories with two entrances in two sides and a porch in the middle floor with a view of pool is a sign of glorious days.

Shiraz Narenjestan-e Ghavam

Qavam House or Narenjestan-e Ghavam is a traditional and historical house in Shiraz, Iran. The paintings on the low ceilings of the house are inspired by Victorian era Europe. The house today is a museum and is open to the public. Narenjestan garden is a great sample of gorgeous Persian gardens of Iran. Persian gardens generally have a rectangular form consisting of four quarters abundant in trees and flowers, streams and pathways, ponds and fountains, a central pavilion, and the walls surrounding the garden. It has an elaborate architecture embellished with various Persian arts such as paintings, stucco, wood carving, stone carving, tile work, and mirror work. A stone pool in addition to date and sour orange trees and palm trees are facing the building which are the specific features and style of Persian gardens. The basement of the monument displays a variety of colorful glasses. It was designed and built elaborately to provide a cool atmosphere throughout the hot summer days of Shiraz.

Shiraz Eram Garden

A very Nice, Calm and Fantastic Garden

Eram Garden in Shiraz is one of the nine UNESCO inscribed cultural heritage sites as Iran's Persian Gardens and also kind a botanical garden. It is a nice garden with a lot of colorful flowers, old cypress trees (more than thousand years old) and a historical building that had some paintings which all have a nice story. Today, Eram Garden and its associated building are within Shiraz Botanical Garden (established 1983) of Shiraz University. The best time for visiting this amazing garden is March and April which the air is permeated with the scent of orange blossoms and all trees and flowers look fresh and pristine.
